He's not that guy. None of the descriptions for any of those guys fit him. He's not even that Gryffindor. He might have been a better Ravenclaw. He's just.... well, he's just Paithan Khyzia.
Though he'd never seriously call himself handsome, he is a decent-looking individual with curly dark brown hair kept purposely less-than-decent yet not-quite-shaggy. He calls himself short and scrawny, but, as he is in fact his worst critic, in truth he is average height and, though slim, muscular enough to afford the occasional flex in front of the mirror when no one else is looking. He has thick sideburns, which he keeps with the excuse of being "too lazy to shave that much of my face", but he really uses them to hide cheekbones that he considers a bit to fine and delicate. Besides, they're far to well-trimmed to use laziness as a legitimate excuse. The overall refined-yet-scruffy look is completed by a thick, stubborn stubble that seems about 5 years too early on the 17-year-old.

The deeper details to his person are a bit more difficult to decipher; most students only recognize him by appearance and not by true personality. To strangers he seems distant, cool, even reclusive. He is not outgoing, never making an effort to meet new people. To acquaintances, however, he seems to be the polar opposite; very friendly, jocular, and easygoing, yet still managing to keep everyone at arms length. His very innermost circle of four or five friends know him to be the comfortable compromise between the two personalities, though.

His father was a warlock, his mother was a muggle, and neither side of the family had more than a halfpenny or knut to spare. Neither were considered necessarily high in their respective social circles, mostly due to their marriage, and so Paithan has felt a bit out-of-place most of his life. Hogwarts is understandably easier to fit into, in some respects, but he still tries to duck out of the social scene.

As far as abilities and tastes go, he would be the first to claim he is nothing extraordinary. He can't draw, paint, or write with any great skill. In fact, his atrocious handwriting has been called everything from that of a "drunk two-year old" to "amputee-chicken scratch." He is very talented musically, however, and loves to play the acoustic guitar and mandolin especially. While he doesn't like singing he has a decent voice, deeper than one would expect from his frame. He does not dance. He does not swim. In fact, he's not overly fond of flying either. He is awful at chess, but will play a game to pass the time. His muggle upbringing shows through in an intense love for Bob Dylan and Tom Petty. He is a closet Bob Seger fan. Sssshhhh.....

Last year he was vaguely involved in a relationship with Anne Southmoore, a younger Hufflepuff, but they decided on their form of seperation at the end of last school year. His best friend, Dane, finished Hogwarts last year and returned home to his family farm. Now slightly off-balance without Anne and Dane, he may be in for a few changes as he feels around for different people to share his Hogwarts social life with.
